Sunday Collection to be taken for Tornado Victims

Grace Lutheran will be taking up an offering for Tornado Relief on Sunday.  Please feel welcome to donate gifts designated for “Pilger Tornado Disaster Response” with checks made out to the Nebraska District LCMS and place them in the offering plate or send them to PO Box 407, Seward NE 68434.  LCMS Disaster Response is also providing a donation process at http://www.lcms.org/disaster.  All money given will go directly to disaster victims in the name of the LCMS.  What is unique about LCMS Disaster Response is all money is given on behalf of a local congregation tying those who are receiving help with a local LCMS congregation.
Click on this link to see a video taken by Pastor Kuhfal of the Lutheran Church in Pilger.  The Pastors in the center are doing an interview for LCMS Disaster Relief.  To the left you will see the bell tower.  On the right you will see three Orphan Grain Train trailers.
Below are before and after pictures of the church.

Before
The St. John Lutheran Church building in Pilger, Neb., is gone, photographed Wednesday, June 18, 2014. The bell tower remains relatively unscathed. Volunteers and heavy equipment are rapidly clearing away the destruction left behind by the twin tornadoes that hit June 16.
