Pastor

Pastor Norlyn Bartens was ordained at Grace Lutheran Church on June 21, 2020 and was installed at Grace and Trinity (Elgin, NE) at that time.  He graduated from the alternate route program at Concordia Theological Seminary - Ft. Wayne, IN in May of 2020.  He and his wife, Elaine, were married on October 3, 1992.  They have two sons - Emmett (wife, Jaimie and daughter, Anastasia) and Faron.  Pastor Bartens is originally from Steeleville, IL and Elaine is from Columbus, IN.  Before attending seminary, Pastor Bartens was in the U.S. Army for four years, earned an AAS from Southwestern Illinois College, and worked as a warehouse tech for Sherwin Williams for 22 years.  He and Elaine reside in Neligh.
