Pre-Confirmation Camp 2016

Last week Monday through Friday from 9AM - Noon students going into 5th and 6th grade participated in the Pre-Confirmation Camp.  Like Basketball, Football, and Cheer Camps, Pre-Confirmation Camp focuses upon the basics.  Students learned the basics of the faith by going through 60 New Testament Stories (next year they will learn 60 Old Testament accounts).  Vicar and Pastor rotated back and forth teaching each story in 7 minutes with PowerPoint slides.  They also showed how each story fit into the greater story of the Bible.  Students also played games (see pictures below), had snack, and recited the catechism.

Especially, check out the action shot (2nd picture) of Vicar smacking a hit off Pastor in wiffel ball.

Making Ornaments and Christmas Caroling

This year for Christmas Caroling Lorna Boggs came up with a fantastic twist.  The Weekday School and Confirmation Class first made Christmas ornaments that illustrate the true meaning of Christmas -- Christ in a manger.  Then we enjoyed Pizza and Pop before delivering the ornaments to the residents of Golden Living Center in Neligh and Antelope Memorial Hospital.  While delivering we sang Christmas Carols to those gathered there.  Below are some pictures of the fun, fellowship and food.  This was a Thrivent Action Team project applied for and led by Lorna Boggs.

Confirmation Retreat 2013

Eight Confirmands, April Buck and Pastor Kuhfal had a great time on the Confirmation Retreat at Camp Luther in Schuyler, NE.  We studied why we do in our worship on Sunday mornings.  Click on the picture below to see more pictures and videos from the retreat.

First Confirmation Class 2013

Students started their first afternoon of Confirmation classes on Wednesday, August 28.  We had an after school snack, opened with devotions (Responsive Prayer 2), recited the ten commandments and their meanings, and started looking through the various parts of the catechism (spending quite a bit of time on the church year, Luther's seal and Christian symbols).  The students were inquisitive and eager to learn.  Here is a couple pictures of the class afterward.
